Located within the heart of The Royal Borough, Chelsea remains synonymous with Sloane Square and the Kings Road, the centre of fashion during the Swinging Sixties. It was the home of Mary Quant and the miniskirt and the King’s Road was the trendiest street on the planet during this era. Chelsea is a now a hugely sought after residential area known for the smart boutiques & high-end restaurants radiating from its heart at Sloane Square.
The National Army Museum traces British army history from the 1600s to the present, while the Saatchi Gallery displays contemporary art in the Duke of York’s headquarters. The red-coated retired soldiers known as the Chelsea Pensioners run guided tours of their residence, the Royal Hospital Chelsea. This area also borders the River Thames, and towards the western end at Chelsea Harbour, there are many wonderful riverside apartments
